We are incredibly proud to announce that our President, James Mercado, will be a featured guest speaker at the upcoming “Light the Path: No One Walks Alone” 2026 Gala.

Hosted by the Veterans Care Trust Fund (VCTF), this evening is a vital reminder that no veteran, survivor, or military family should ever have to navigate life's hardships in isolation.

At the gala, James will highlight his dedication to three core pillars:

  • Pathways to Homeownership: Helping veterans strengthen their financial footing to plan for the future and achieve the dream of owning a home.

His presence reinforces the truth that when community leaders step forward, veterans rise with them.

An Evening of Powerful Advocacy

The 2026 Gala will feature a diverse group of leaders whose advocacy illuminates the path for the veteran community. James will share the stage with:

Shannon Hough: The founder of Shield of Sisters and a tireless advocate for survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Shannon has built a national movement focused on truth, healing, and connection.

Travis West: A veteran and founding partner of West & Dunn. As a relentless legal advocate, Travis fights to restore the benefits, dignity, and stability that veterans have earned.

The Gala Experience

Beyond the inspiring program, the event offers an unforgettable evening of celebration at the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Wisconsin Dells.

The Gourmet Menu

  • Salad Course: Fresh baby spinach and spring mix topped with bacon, walnuts, aged cheddar, and a warm bacon vinaigrette (GF).
  • Main Entrée Selections: Choice of sea-salt & thyme crusted Slow Roasted Prime Rib (GF), sautéed Chicken Kalahari (GF) with artichoke cream sauce, or Roasted Tomato Lasagna (V) with eggplant and spinach.
  • Dessert Trio: A selection featuring Flourless Chocolate Cake (GF), New York Cheesecake, and a Florentine Cup.

Guests can also enjoy a silent auction, a cork pull, and a night of music and dancing.
