Veterans America™ was created due to rampant exploitation of our veterans by other predatory VA lending services. Veterans are being charged exorbitant fees, bloated interest rates, and frankly – other lending companies were not living up to their promises, but rather profiting off our nation’s Veterans. Veterans America™ is different, holding the strong belief that our soldiers, fighting to protect our republic, that each of you deserve to “Own The Land You Defend®”.
Founder James Mercado created Veterans America™ because over his 25 year career he saw too many Veterans being exploited financially in this space. Mr. Mercado is very active in the Veterans community through volunteering, fund raising and even serves as Vice Chairperson for a national Veterans advocacy committee in DC to help influence national policies for our Veterans. Mr. Mercado talks with veterans all over the world to help them realize the complexity of the VA Benefits yet he has a knack to break it down to a very simple and profound way that it makes sense.
The focus of Veterans America™ is to see the homeownership of veterans go up. The “why” is birthed out of personal stories where expert veteran home loan aid was essential due to negligence by other companies. Veterans America™ has helped thousands of veterans, from a man in his late 70’s whom had lost both legs to Agent Orange and had rented his entire life finally owning his own home, to a military-serving couple where the wife had stage 4 cancer and wanted a home before she died – which was completed quickly and affordably. Another example was a military couple who worked with a well-known VA loan company only for the company to make a mistake, leaving them homeless; Veterans America™ was able to save the couple exponential money in fees, lower their monthly rate, and get them in a house quickly. The couple coined it a “miracle.”
